Professional Profile

José Carlos Gil is a dynamic and experienced translator, who is ardently devoted to his work. His passion for Greco-Latin languages, having emerged at a very young age, led him toward his first contact with the translation world. He acquired his Degree in Translation and Interpretation at the University of Valladolid and in the midst of obtaining his doctorate at the University of Granada in Cognitive Science of Translation, he was presented with the opportunity for joining a prominent Japanese company, based in Amsterdam, NL, as a technical in-house translator, which he accepted. Following several years of experience during which his professional profile began to take form, he decided to invest his expertise in his own business endeavour, JC Gil Translations, which would later evolve into Bluebird Translations. As a translation aficionado, he never misses an opportunity to attend conferences, courses or seminars in his pursuit toward expanding his know-how. Apart from managing Bluebird Translations' blog, he actively participates in his other translation blog, Con el calco en los talones, in which he shares the stage with like-minded translators, whose passion for words is their common denominator.
